We are seeking an experienced Chief Installation Supervisor to lead on-site equipment installations and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. In this role, you will coordinate teams, manage contractors, and act as the primary point of contact on-site. You will be responsible for resolving technical issues, tracking project progress, and supporting continuous improvement. This is where you'll excel
  • Leads an installation team and/or performs equipment installations according to specifications and engineering documents with the intent of achieving and further improving cost, schedule, quality and OHS targets.
  • Uses appropriate tools and aides properly and follows all safety instructions, environmental protection measures, and local regulations.
  • Initiates timely requests for additional installation staff, such as vendors/contractors/subcontractors as needed.
  • Monitors progress of construction and initiates preventative measures; ensures engineering department is aware of and manages technical issues that may arise.
  • Conducts or attends regularly scheduled meetings with team members and provides updates to management staff; provides feedback to Project Execution department during debriefing meetings.
  • Records daily work, issues/problems, special information, and a list of pending items for review and follow-up.
  • In the absence of a Site Manager, acts as primary point of contact for customers and contractors on site, approves or initiates progress management, site organization, OHS, financial recommendations, quality control and design modifications.
  • Provides performance assessments of team members to leadership to ensure projects are completed with the highest level of competency.
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains operating standards to ensure quality project results and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolves issues and answer questions that may occur during the design, manufacturing, installation and/or commissioning phase of projects that may arise; may escalate complex questions and issues to leadership personnel for resolution or guidance.
  • Tracks project schedules to ensure tasks are completed on time and in totality; uses the Buhler CAQ system to track deviations.
  • Participates in continual learning activities and applies practical applications to work performed.
  • Must arrive to work predictably and promptly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
These are the skills you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction project management or related field.
  • +5 years of experience in an installation engineering role.
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credentials preferred.
  • Speaks and understands English.
  • Domestic and international travel 80% time which may include long hours and non-traditional work schedule.
