Summary

The Technical Sales Project Manager will support the Service and Sales (SAS) organization in the Americas (North and South America) in promoting and selling Buhler's thermal processing solutions. This role involves guiding and supporting regional sales teams and 3rd party channel partners through long sales cycles (6 to 24 months). The individual in this role will play a critical part in lead and opportunity development, ensuring effective communication and coordination between global SAS and regional partners. This position requires travel of 25-35% of the time and proficiency in English, with Spanish language skills highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities

Sales and Lead Development:

  • Support SAS organization and 3rd party channel partners in identifying and qualifying leads.
  • Develop technical sales presentations and proposals for the SAS organization tailored to client requirements.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate with business unit Sales/Quotation and Fulfillment teams to ensure seamless integration of technical proposals for Buhler clients.
  • Monitor and track sales initiatives and projects, ensuring they align with established timelines and budgets.
  • Provide detailed reports on the progress of leads, sales activities, and project implementations.

Relationship Management:

  • Act as a liaison between SAS, channel partners, Buhler customers along with Buhler’s business unit technical support.
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing SAS concerns and coordinating necessary technical support.
  • Facilitate training for regional SAS organizations including sales and technical content.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel within the Americas region (25-35%) to support sales activities, customer site visits, and coordination with regional partners.
  • Ensure all travel arrangements, including visas and transportation, are organized and comply with company policies.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Technical or Business degrees, or related technical and/or business accreditation relevant to the position.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, product management, product development, or applications engineering, preferably within the industrial equipment sector.
  • Proven track record in managing long sales cycles.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory. 
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of industrial drying equipment and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver technical sales presentations.
  • Deep understanding of industrial drying processes and equipment.

Project Management:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines and targets.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.​​​​​​​
