Sputtering Components Inc, a member of Buhler Group, is a growing business in Owatonna, Minnesota that has served customers all around the world for over 20 years.

 

Every day, millions of people around the world come into contact with products made using SCI equipment. Our thin film technologies are used in vacuum coating systems to make windows, smartphones, display screens, solar panels, automobile components, decorative hardware and more.

We are currently seeking an International Operations Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Sputtering Component's products at Bühler's overseas locations. You'll be at the forefront of driving production capacity, managing critical drawings, certifying local suppliers, and training our dedicated staff on assembly and quality procedures. Additionally, you'll ensure seamless integration of production data into Sputtering Component's core business systems. This position is remote eligible. Please note that visits to Sputtering Components will be required, thus increasing expected travel for remote candidates.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage drawing transfer and updates between BSCI and Buhler entities
  • Coordinate facility and investment requirements with local Buhler entities
  • Design and implement manufacturing process flow between suppliers and local Buhler entities
  • Organize and oversee remote training of production and quality procedures by BSCI personnel
  • Organize and oversee training of local applications engineers and service personnel by BSCI
  • Organize and oversee approval of local vendors
  • Manage the qualification process of final products produced at overseas Buhler facilities
  • Ensure the smooth flow of the inquiry to order, and order to shipment processes
  • Ensure necessary production and quality data in transferred into BSCI core business systems
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel internationally 30% of the time, with peaks as high as 50%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred
  • 5+ years’ manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of machining techniques and assembly processes, particularly of vacuum related equipment
  • Experience with SolidWorks is a plus
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to travel overseas at least 30% of the time, with peaks as high as 50%
