Buhler Inc. seeks a full-time Sales Manager Automation & Digital Solutions based in Plymouth, MN. The primary duty of the Sales Manager Automation & Digital Solutions is to execute the sales strategy and initiatives for Buhler's automation solutions. In cooperation with the Sales Leadership, this position is responsible for strategic planning, sales growth and development, problem resolution, and reaching sales targets to meet company objectives. This position initiates contact with existing and potential customers, identifies their needs, and sells Buhler Automation Solutions. Specific duties include: 1) Foster customer relationships, develop and establish new automation solutions accounts. 2) Contact customers, collect information, negotiate sales contracts. 3) Communicate and participate in solving problems related to customer orders or concerns. 4) Collect market data (customer and competition) that show the need of the businesses and industries within the region. 5) Meet Automation sales budget (order intake) for North America region. 6) Participate in and contribute to strategic business development of automation products and support digital offerings. 7) Monitor and support automation project quotations with technical expertise, prepare quotes as needed. 8) Cooperation, coordination and solution finding with Automation Engineering teams with 30+ engineers in matrix organization. 9) Drive Automation retrofit initiatives and support management in strategic projects. 10) Capture market requirements and provide regional product management with feedback to R&D teams. 11) Continuous refreshing/updating of product knowledge. 12) Prepare Share Of Market report and maintain Customer Relations Management database. 13) Prepare Strength Weakness Opportunities Threats analysis as needed for Mid Term Planning and budget planning. 14) Attend and participate in trade shows, exhibitions and industry associations. Position requires international and domestic travel up to 50% of the time.
These are the skills you'll need
This position requires two (2) years of vocational education or training in the field of Electrician, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Robotics Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent and five (5) years of electrical systems and automation engineering sales experience. Experience must include three (3) years of experience, which may be concurrent, in all of the following: 1) fostering customer relationships, developing and establishing new automation solutions accounts; 2) contacting customers, collecting information, negotiating sales contracts; 3) monitoring and supporting automation project quotations with technical expertise, preparing quotes as needed; 4) driving automation retrofit initiatives and supporting management in strategic projects; and 5) capturing market requirements and providing regional product management with feedback to R&D teams. All experience may have been gained concurrently. Position requires international and domestic travel up to 50% of the time. Salary: $128, 523 to $150, 000/year.
