Senior Coffee Process Technologist
Are you passionate about coffee and coffee processing, plant concepts, and turning deep technology know-how into practical customer value? As Senior Coffee Process Technologist, you will play a key role in strengthening Bühler's Coffee Market Segment by developing and transferring end-to-end coffee-process expertise from farm to cup. Ideally based in Wuxi, China, you will support customer projects, technical sales, engineering, R&D, product management, and commissioning teams with reliable process knowledge, high-quality flowsheets, structured problem solving, and expert training. In this role, you will help position Bühler as a trusted full-solution partner in coffee processing and contribute directly to the development of the OneCoffee mindset across the organization.
• You establish and review high-quality flowsheets, process concepts, and plant solutions according to Bühler standards and customer requirements.
• You support technical sales, regional sales and service teams, quotation, engineering, and project teams with deep process expertise.
• You analyse complex customer problems in industrial coffee-production plants and propose practical, technically sound solutions.
• You support complex commissioning, start-ups, trials, plant optimization, and customer demonstrations.
• You document trials, start-up experience, commissioning learnings, and process findings in a structured and transferable way.
• You contribute process expertise to R&D, product portfolio development, technology standards, and Coffee technology-roadmap discussions.
• You train and coach colleagues and customers on selected coffee-processing topics and help strengthen Bühler's internal coffee competence.
• You follow coffee process and technology trends and translate relevant insights into practical recommendations for Bühler and its customers.
• Strong experience in industrial coffee processing, plant engineering, production, quality assurance, commissioning, or process technology.
• Excellent understanding of coffee-processing technologies and the ability to connect process know-how with customer requirements and plant performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in industrial food-production environments.
• Structured, proactive, and documentation-oriented working style.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work across an international matrix organization.
• Good written and oral communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Coffee Expert capability, SCA accreditation, or comparable coffee-specific expertise or training is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel internationally (30%) for customer visits, trials, commissioning support, trainings, and technology activities.
